Prof. Z.Y. Dong received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from The University of Sydney, NSW 2006, Australia, in 1999. He is currently a SHARP Professor in Energy Systems and the Director of UNSW Digital Grid Futures Institute, The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, NSW, Australia. He was previously a Professor and the Head of School of Electrical and Information Engineering, The University of Sydney, and the Ausgrid Chair and the Director of the Ausgrid Centre for Intelligent Electricity Networks, The University of Newcastle, Australia providing R&D support for the Smart Grid, Smart City national demonstration project. His research interests include power system planning and dynamics, renewable energy systems, power system load modeling, electricity market, and computational methods in power engineering. He has been serving as editor/associate editor for a number of IEEE Transactions and IET journals. Prof. Dong is a Fellow of IEEE. He is Web of Science Highly Cited Research (2019,2020).
