Dr. PAI ZHENG is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Lab-in-Charge of Digitalized Service Laboratory (DSL), at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, HKSAR. Before this, he has been a Research Fellow in the Delta-NTU Corporate Laboratory for Cyber-Physical Systems, in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore from Jan. 2018 to Sep. 2019. His research interest mainly lies in human-robot collaboration, smart product-service systems, and manufacturing digital servitization. Dr. Zheng received his Dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Material (major) and Computer (minor) Science and Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China in 2010, Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Beihang University, China in 2013, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 2017. He has published 1 monograph on “Smart Product-Service Systems” in Elsevier, 50 SCI-indexed journal papers (43 in JCR Q1, 31 as the first/corresponding author, and 7 ESI high-cited ones), filed 2 Chinese Patents, won 2 International Best Conference Paper Award, and has been listed in the 2021 Stanford List of World’s Top 2% Scientists in Industrial Engineering and Automation (
